Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking a DRIVING-OPERATIONS role to operate the Asphalt Distributor on road construction projects in Alabama. A current CDL with Tanker endorsement is required, with the ability to learn operating practices and perform basic maintenance. The role requires DOT physical and compliance with safety standards.

You will work within CRH's APAC-AL, Inc. team, contributing to high-quality materials delivery on civil projects and maintaining equipment readiness on site.

Qualifications

• Must have a current CDL license preferably with Tanker endorsement and the ability to learn how to operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck.
• Must pass DOT physical/drug screen.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Asphalt Distributor on Road Construction projects.
• Set spray bar on distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance as needed.
• Ensure equipment is in safe, working condition and report major issues.
• Follow project directions and complete tasks as assigned.

This position will operate the Asphalt Distributor on Road Construction projects.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Must have a current CDL license preferrably with Tanker endorsement and the ability to learn how to operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck


• Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.


• May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.


• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.


• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions.


• Must pass DOT physical/drug screen
