Knife River is hiring an Asphalt Paving Laborer to join our team in Texas. You will operate pavers, screeds, rollers, and other paving equipment, and assist with material handling and traffic control.

Applicants should be prepared for long hours in various weather conditions and be able to work as part of a crew. This role requires reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven work experience as a construction laborer is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is preferred.

Mansioni

• Operate heavy equipment related to asphalt paving.
• Place, shovel and rake materials with hand tools.
• Lift and carry tools and supplies.
• Control and guide machine to lay asphalt.
• Fill tanks or hoppers with paving materials.
• Light burners on machines and regulate screed temperatures.
• Spread and compact asphalt paving.
• Smooth out stone or concrete using attachments.
• Ensure machines are well-oiled, serviced, and inspected.
• Provide equipment cleanup as needed.
• Operate tamping machines or manually roll surfaces to compact and finish road materials.
• Guide dump trucks to maintain flow of asphalt into hoppers.
• Guide operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
• Assist in placement, moving and dismantling signs and traffic control devices.
• Assist with flagging to direct motorists away from work zone.
• Drive or attach machines onto tractor trailers.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Knife River has excellent opportunities for an Asphalt Paving Laborer. Our asphalt paving crews consist of the following - operation of pavers, screeds, rollers, distributors, as well as raking and shoveling of asphalt and other laboring duties.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate heavy equipment related to asphalt paving.
2. Place, shovel and rake materials with hand tools.
3. Lift and carry tools and supplies.
4. Control and guide machine to lay asphalt.
5. Fill tanks or hoppers with paving materials.
6. Light burners on machines and regulate screed temperatures.
7. Spread and compact asphalt paving.

10. Provide equipment cleanup as needed.

9. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
10. Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Proven work experience as a construction laborer is preferred.
2. Experience with construction machinery is helpful.
3. High school diploma or equivalent.
4. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is preferred.
