Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior-level engineer for the ASP Sustainment program, based primarily onsite in Dallas, TX. The role involves coordinating troubleshooting efforts with engineering and depot teams, and supporting test procedures to improve fault isolation and reduce RTAT.

The position requires extensive experience, a U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. Travel is anticipated at <5% with strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • An Advanced Degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with SAP, PRISM, Kinaxis, Depot, IMRO and/or CMES
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance

Our ASP Sustainment Program Operations partner with Production and Depot Operations teams to establish and prioritize testing schedules in conjunction with troubleshooting objectives, as well as, monitor and provide updates to operations on the status of Work In Progress (WIP), including engineering evaluations and Special Test Equipment (STE) readiness. This position is a primarily onsite working location role. The position is located in Dallas, Texas.

This position requires a security clearance.

Not Relocation Eligible – Relocation assistance not available.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with engineering teams to support troubleshooting efforts in alignment with depot Repair Turnaround Time (RTAT) goals. Coordinate and provide support to test technicians to ensure efficient testing processes. Facilitate the modification and improvement of test procedures to enhance fault isolation and reduce turnaround times. Coordinate with other Depot Engineering Technical Assistants (TAOs) to ensure seamless support across teams. Ability to travel <5%.

What You Will Learn

Troubleshooting and repairing commercial and aircraft platforms, applying prior experience to enhance operational efficiency. Understanding depot and sustainment activities specific to defense-related hardware, with a focus on electronics. Applying root cause analysis, corrective action, and problem‑solving methodologies to resolve technical issues effectively. Developing or improving skills in creating and writing technical documentation. Enhancing attention to detail and maintaining thorough, accurate notes to support operational and troubleshooting processes.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or
  • An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience with SAP, PRISM, Kinaxis, Depot, IMRO and/or CMES
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
