Job Overview

The ASME Welder (3rd shift) is responsible for welding, grinding, assembly, quality, and inspection of various parts for compressors and related components. The role involves selecting proper tips and welding rods, maintaining ASME Code quality, and producing x-ray quality welds. The successful candidate will complete multiple part setups, welding, and grinding for critical part families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Weld and braze parts according to ASME BPVC Division 1 Sections VIII and IX (code stamp not required).
  2. Perform welding in positions 1G, 2G, and 3G on steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel, following WPS documents.
  3. Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper operation.
  4. Contour welds using a die grinder.
  5. Lay out, mark, cut, prepare joints, fixture, and tack weld from shop prints, including complex code and non-code work.
  6. Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years welding experience with various metals in manufacturing.
  • Experience with burning and air arc repairs.
  • Proficiency in SMAW or GTAW pipe welding in 6G position preferred; other welding skills advantageous.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform precise measurements.
  • Proficient to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
