Schmidt Industrial Services LLC in Chester, PA, is seeking an ASME Code Fitter/Welder to join our team. You will support fabrication of heavy gauge storage tanks and vessels across oil and gas, energy, chemical, confectionery, and waste-water industries.

The ideal candidate can read weld symbols, select filler metal, operate MIG and TIG methods, and pass visual, PT, MT, and X-ray testing while keeping work areas clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG and TIG welding on heavy gauge components.
• Ability to read and interpret weld symbols on drawings.
• Familiarity with weld inspection methods (visual, PT, MT, RT).
• Knowledge of selecting appropriate filler metals for job requirements.

• Support fabrication of heavy gauge code storage tanks and vessels.
• Produce quality welds and pass required tests.
• Maintain cleanliness of welding area and optimize machine settings as needed.

Schmidt Industrial Services LLC is looking for an ASME Code Fitter/Welder to join our team in Chester, PA. The role will be responsible for supporting the fabrication of heavy gauge code storage tanks and vessels that support numerous industries including oil and gas, energy, chemical manufacturing, confectionery (primarily chocolate) production, and waste/waste water industries.

Requirements

• ABLE TO REPLACE CONSUMEABLES ON BOTH MIG AND TIG TORCHES AND DETERMINE IF MACHINE IS OPERATING PROPERLY. KEEP THE WELDING MACHINE CLEAN.
• ABLE TO ADJUST CONTROLS FOR VOLTS, AMPS, WIRE SPEED, ETC.
• ABLE TO CHOOSE CORRECT FILLER METAL FOR JOB
• LET LEADER KNOW WHEN WELDING SUPPLIES ARE LOW
• KNOW HOW TO READ AND USE WELD GAGES
• KNOW WELD SYMBOLS
• FIND OUT WHAT WELD SIZE IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO WELDING. IF NOT PROVIDED, ASK SUPERVISOR OR REVIEW DRAWING
• PRODUCE QUALITY WELDS IN BOTH MIG & TIG, ABLE TO PASS VISUAL, PT, MT AND OR X-RAY TESTING
• GRIND / REMOVE SCALE, IF NECESSARY, PRIOR TO WELDING
• REMOVE ANY SPATTER / PIMPLES THAT ARE PRODUCED
• KEEP THE AREA NEAT AND CLEAN
