Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts seeks an Asleep Overnight Support to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in a 24/7 program. This role involves staying overnight, coordinating with staff, and maintaining professional relationships with families and agencies.

Schedule includes overnight shifts Thursday and Friday with weekend coverage, totaling about 32 hours per week. Rates: asleep $17.65/hr; awake $20.81–$21.85/hr (MAP options). Benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record is required.
  • CORI is required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Be physically present in a residential program to ensure well-being of individuals served.
  • Maintain professional relationships with individuals served, families/guardians, peers, community partners and government agencies.
  • Assist with medication administration and documentation as needed.
  • Perform light to medium maintenance and household duties (cleaning, laundry, meal prep, snow shoveling).
  • Follow end-of-shift checklists to ensure security of the program site.
  • Implement Individual Support Plans based on assessments and goals.
  • Accurately code services into the electronic medical records system for billing.

Job description

The Asleep Overnight Support is responsible for the being physically present in a residential program to ensure the well-being of supported individuals. Maintains positive, professional relationships with individuals served, families/guardians, peers, community partners and government agencies.

Work Schedule

Thursday - 11pm-6am(asleep), 6am-9am (awake), Friday 11pm-6am (asleep), Saturday 9pm-11pm(awake), 11pm-6am(asleep) 6am-9am(awake)-Total 32 Hours

Asleep rate: $17.65 hourly

Awake rate: $20.81 without MAP $21.85 with MAP

Essential Functions
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Physical demands include: Frequent standing, pushing, pulling, walking, stooping, lifting and twisting.
  • Ability to perform physical restraint if necessary.
  • Ability to transfer, change, shower assist with toileting and all personal care needs of the individuals supported.
  • Frequent driving of facility motor vehicles and vans.
  • Provide light to medium maintenance/domestic functions associated with residential programs including but not limited to: shoveling snow, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and grounds keeping.
  • Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy, problem solve, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, and crisis manage.
  • Cross functional communication skills, written and oral, which convey clear and concise information in a professional and respectful manner to individuals supported, family members/guardians, peers, government agencies, community partners and all employees throughout the organization.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Works closely with Residential Managers in delivering service standards of excellence and ensure operational compliance within assigned program in accordance with federal, state and agency regulations.
  • Oversee and monitor administration of medications as appropriate.
  • Completes program specific assignments including bed checks, nutritional meal planning, monitoring and maintaining inventory of household products, and assisting with transportation service.
  • Follows defined end of shift check-list to ensure security of program site.
  • Implement Individual Support Plans for individuals based on assessments, objectives and goals.
  • Timely and accurate coding for services into electronic medical records system for billing purposes.
  • Attends mandatory trainings and meetings as assigned and required. Maintains all required certifications.
  • Conducts oneself professionally, maintaining respect, following regulations and agency policies and adhering to confidentiality requirements in all assigned duties
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required, experience in relevant field preferred.
  • A Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required
  • CORI is required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.
