Job summary

Wright State University is seeking an experienced Instructor for the American Sign Language program within the Department of Human Services. The successful candidate will teach courses in American Sign Language and Sign Language Interpreting, advise students, and engage in various service-related activities including curriculum development.

Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree and have at least three years teaching experience in post-secondary American Sign Language courses. Experience in university-level curriculum development is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of three years experience teaching post‑secondary American Sign Language courses.
  • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification and/or American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) certification preferred.
  • Five years experience in curriculum development and evaluation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the American Sign Language and Sign Language Interpreting programs.
  • Advise students in the ASL and SLI programs.
  • Engage in curriculum development and participate in committees.
