Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a School Sign Language Interpreter in Surprise, Arizona for a 36-week contract, with compensation up to $50 per hour to support classroom communication between students and teachers.

Responsibilities include interpreting ASL for effective student-educator communication, maintaining confidentiality, collaborating with staff, documenting sessions, and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required (in-person).
• At least 1 year of instructional interpretation in a school.
• Completion of an Interpreter Training program.
• Valid driver's license and AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Interpret American Sign Language to enable effective communication between students and educators.
• Ensure confidentiality, privacy policies, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with teachers, students, and staff to support educational and communication goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interpreted sessions and outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
