Homeland Language Services is hiring American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for medical settings in Frederick, MD. We seek experienced interpreters with at least one year of clinical experience to support LEP patients, families, and clinicians onsite.

Job Overview

The Interpreter provides interpretation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients, their families, providers, and staff. The Interpreter advocates for LEP patients' access to the full range of health care services by providing intercultural mediation to assist providers in delivering culturally sensitive patient care. A commitment to exceptional customer experience, patient privacy & safety, and teamwork is required for this position.

Job type: ONSITE

Location: Frederick, MD

Schedule: Regular business hours (8 AM - 6 PM), some Saturdays, appointments based on client needs.

Rate: Dependent on certification and experience.

Your background and experience

• Work experience: 1+ years.
• Certifications: not compulsory, but desirable (e.g., K-12, NIC, CI, EIC).
• Fluency in spoken and written English and ASL interpreting at a professional medical level.
• COVID‑19 considerations: proof of vaccination, mask wear, portable hand sanitizer during appointments unless otherwise determined by the client.
