Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a temporary or permanent Iowa interpreter license.
• Ability to work with students from kindergarten through high school.
• Must have reliable transportation to work at multiple school sites.
• Must exhibit ASL and English bilingual skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, educators, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken language and sign language in classroom settings.
• Facilitate communication between deaf and hard of hearing students and others.
• Use ASL/PSE when interpreting.
• Assist deaf and hard of hearing students as guided by IEP.
