Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking an American Sign Language interpreter to provide high-quality ASL interpretation across education, healthcare, legal, and community settings in Oakland, CA. The role emphasizes professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality while supporting Deaf and hearing audiences.

The interpreter will use VRI and in-person interpretation, travel to on-site assignments, and collaborate with Deaf individuals, colleagues, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional ASL interpreting experience in education, medical, community, or legal settings.
• Must hold RID certification or CDI/BEI equivalents.
• Fluency in ASL and English with strong cultural awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate ASL-to-English and English-to-ASL interpretation for one-on-one, group, and virtual or in-person settings.
• Facilitate communication across education, healthcare, legal, and community settings.
• Utilize VRI and other technologies for remote interpretation as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to RID Code of Conduct.
