Job summary

Language Service Agency seeks dependable on-call interpreters fluent in English and ASL to support students, teachers and parents in school settings. Interpreters must be able to travel to school sites and work in person or remotely.

Roles involve interpreting during peak times and special projects across Long Island school districts, with flexible availability to cover assignments as needed while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English and ASL with strong cross-cultural communication.
• Native-level fluency in English and ASL.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to travel to school sites and work remotely with reliable Wi-Fi and equipment.
• Availability to accept assignments Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Attend in person and/or remote meetings to interpret between parents, students, and staff.
• Interpret clearly, conveying tone and intent in English and ASL.
• Assist with written and oral communication as needed.
• Maintain strong client relationships and manage schedules.
