Position Summary

The Residential Driver operates heavy‑duty trucks and is responsible for collecting residential household waste or recyclable materials. The driver transports the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility when trucks reach legal load capacity. The driver safely maneuvers vehicles in residential environments, navigating high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots.

Your Role
  • Operates vehicles in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Performs pre‑and post‑trip inspections and documents checks using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service‑related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by the company.
  • Works closely with the Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notifies the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notifies the Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, such as closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris.
  • Follows route assignments as directed and completes end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
  • Works with leadership to implement strategies for community and municipal outreach.
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance per Company policies, ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties as required based on business needs.

Requirements
  • Hold a current Class A or B commercial driver’s license.
  • Class A or B commercial driver’s license with an air‑brake endorsement is a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Able to meet all Department of Transportation requirements.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
