Job summary

Intracoastal Dermatology and Skin Surgery in Leland, NC is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced, patient-focused team. Dermatology experience is strongly preferred, with duties spanning exams, procedures, and skin surgery preparations.

You will room patients, record vitals, and document histories in EMA Modernizing Medicine, while maintaining exam rooms and sterile fields. Great communication and multitasking are essential in coordinating care with clinicians and front desk

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred
• Prior dermatology, medical office, or clinical setting experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and medical documentation

Responsibilities

• Assist dermatologists and clinical staff with patient exams, procedures, and skin surgery preparations
• Room patients, record vital signs, and document medical histories in the EHR system (Modernizing Medicine - EMA)
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, surgical trays, and sterile fields
• Assist with dermatological procedures including biopsies, excisions, Mohs, and cosmetic treatments
• Educate patients on post-procedure care, medications, and follow-up instructions
• Manage patient flow, scheduling, and coordination between clinical and front office staff
• Handle specimen labeling, pathology submissions, and lab result tracking
