Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems has an exciting opportunity for multiple ASIC and/or FPGA Design and Verification Engineers (Experienced, Lead, or Senior) to join our Boeing Electronic Products team in Mountain View, CA. Our team develops ASICs and FPGAs for various applications, from complex digitally beamformed phased arrays for satellite programs to computing and networking equipment for commercial airplanes.

We leverage leading-edge technology and collaborate with world-class partners to develop some of the most complex SoCs in the world. Our work involves designing robust, high-performance custom processors using the latest ARM IP, applying industry-best digital IC design processes, and supporting a broad range of Boeing products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead FPGA/ASIC designs, manage teams, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to capture requirements and design digital logic functions.
  • Evaluate ASIC/FPGA technologies and select optimal components considering Schedule, Cost, Risk, Area, and Power.
  • Design FPGA/ASIC components using current industry practices and tools, from micro-architecture to physical design.
  • Integrate DSP and third-party IP cores.
  • Perform static timing analysis, LEC, CDC, linting, and other verification checks.
  • Develop functional and code coverage models; create self-checking, reusable test benches using UVM and OOP concepts.
  • Drive FPGA prototyping and validation activities.
  • Perform hardware integration testing with specialized equipment and systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building effective project teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of ASIC/FPGA design or verification experience (or Master’s degree with 3+ years).
  • Experience with SystemVerilog, ASIC/FPGA architecture, and functional verification.
  • Experience with hardware-based integration and testing of FPGA/ASIC designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Master’s or higher in EE, CS, or related fields.
  • Leadership experience in ASIC/FPGA projects.
  • Experience with hardware emulators, verification languages, high-speed interfaces, scripting, version control, and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of space-based design techniques and radiation mitigation is a plus.
