Job summary

Ashly Audio, a division of JAM Industries, seeks a full-time firmware engineer to develop and maintain firmware for advanced network audio amplifiers, DSPs, and remote-control devices. You will work in a collaborative, audio-focused team in Webster, NY, with remote options.

You should be proficient in C/C++, experienced with embedded Linux, and able to design reliable software with clear documentation and robust test plans. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and JavaScript and/or Python.
• Strong embedded system design for high reliability; experience with embedded Linux is preferred.
• Experience with Node.js, SQLite and ZeroMQ is beneficial.
• Familiarity with GUI development or network APIs (SPI, I2C, UART) is a plus.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop bare metal or RTOS firmware for embedded systems requiring high reliability.
• Develop backend and middleware firmware for embedded Linux platforms.
• Assist with peripheral interface electronics design and other circuits as needed.
• Maintain coding standards with clear comments and documentation.
• Define test plans and help develop test automation for releases.
• Collaborate with engineers and support staff to troubleshoot issues.

Position Summary

Ashly Audio is seeking a full-time to develop and maintain firmware for advanced
network audio amplifiers, digital signal processors, and remote-control devices. If you have a passion for audio and

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop bare metal or RTOS firmware for complex embedded systems that require high reliability
• Develop backend and middleware firmware for embedded Linux platforms
• Assist with peripheral interface electronics design (and other circuits if desired)
• Maintain coding standards with intuitive function/object names, clear comments, and flow diagrams
• Define test plans and help develop test automation projects to effectively validate code releases
• Work with other engineers to understand system integration requirements
• Work with technical support staff to investigate and correct reported bugs or deficiencies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be proficient with C++ and/or C
  Must be proficient with Java Script and/or Python
  Strong experience with complex embedded system design focusing on high reliability
  Experience with embedded Linux firmware development is highly desired
  Experience with Node.JS, SQLite, and ZeroMQ are very beneficial
  Experience with one or more of the following:
  o Graphical User Interface development
  o Network-related programming (such as client/server applications, asynchronous processing).
  o Designing and implementing communications APIs for SPI, I2C, or UART.
  Experience using Git/Bitbucket
  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing firmware and hardware for complex embedded systems.
• Familiarity with audio networking, professional audio systems, and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with hardware-level troubleshooting and embedded product development.
