Job Summary

The ASG Presales Solutions Engineer - Cloud Security collaborates with account teams to assess customer data center environments and design tailored infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives. This role involves building technical relationships with OEMs, providing training to sales teams and customers, managing the solution practice pipeline, and engaging with various client contacts to identify technology opportunities across Data Center, Cloud, Network, Security, and Services spaces.

This is a remote position that may require reporting to the Austin, Texas office as needed.

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer data center environments and infrastructure technologies.
• Design and propose tailored infrastructure solutions aligning with customer goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with OEMs and strategic partners, staying updated on product info.
• Provide product training and technical education to sales teams and customers.
• Act as a trusted IT advisor, partnering with Field Account Executives.
• Manage the solution pipeline by developing strategies for top prospects and acquiring new business.
• Identify technology opportunities within Data Center, Cloud, Network, Security, and Services.
• Develop solutions that meet customer needs and budgets through strategic planning.
• Engage with client contacts at all levels, including CIOs, IT Directors, and CTOs.
• Educate sales teams on technical selling, products, services, and trends.

Behaviors and Competencies

Effective presentation, negotiation, communication, detail orientation, organization, follow-up, problem-solving, relationship building, documentation, and results orientation skills are essential.

Skill Level Requirements

• Experience in complex Data Center sales opportunities – Intermediate level.
• Ability to design hybrid cloud, hyper-converged, SDDC, and related infrastructures – Intermediate.
• Strong knowledge of Virtualization, Hypervisors, SDDC, containerization, and automation – Intermediate.
• Effective communication and sales skills for technical products – Intermediate.
• Expertise in Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Azure, AWS, Veeam, Nutanix, etc. – Intermediate.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and high availability solutions – Intermediate.

Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
• 3-5 years in a similar role.
• Ability to travel for events.
• Preferred advanced certifications in relevant technologies.

The estimated annual salary ranges from $120,000 to $230,000, including base salary and bonus, depending on experience and location. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending. We are an equal opportunity employer.
