Job summary

The Philadelphia School is seeking an ASEP Lead Teacher to guide an assigned grade group after school, support students’ social‑emotional needs, and serve as the primary liaison with the daytime teaching team.

Work hours are 2:00–6:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional full‑day opportunities during special programs. Associate degree with 4+ years of experience is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 4+ years of experience working with children.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
• Motivation and enthusiasm for after‑school programs.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs to transport supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the assigned grade group, guiding the teacher(s) supporting that group, including documentation and communication regarding student engagement and behavior.
• Oversee students’ social‑emotional support and escalate needs when appropriate.
• Coordinate with the daytime teaching team as primary liaison to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure student well‑being, implement health and safety policies, and manage attendance/dismissal.
