Job summary

Regional Transportation Agency of Central Maryland is seeking an ASE certified Automotive/Bus Maintenance Technician to service our fleet of transit and service vehicles in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role emphasizes inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and preventing breakdowns with a focus on safety and quality.

The position requires at least three years of hands-on repair experience, the ability to work independently, and earning ASE certifications within six months and the first year.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years hands-on light, medium, heavy-duty and/or transit repair experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, heavy equipment, and alternative fuels.
  • Must earn ASE certifications within first six months and one additional certification within first year.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL Class B with P endorsement and no Airbrakes restriction within training period.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required.
  • Willingness to learn and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, service and repair transit vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepare and document work orders; use paperless maintenance system.
  • Diagnose with diagnostic software and manuals and wiring schematics.
  • Perform road calls and emergency services as needed.
  • Maintain safety and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisors.
