Job summary

CarMax in West Point, VA is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and reliability standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility and use advanced tools to restore vehicles.

The role covers engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC; requires reading vehicle systems and following EH&S rules. ASE certifications are required where state/local law applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications where required by state/local law (A4, A5, A7, A6, A1, A3, A8, A2).
