Job summary

The Lansing School District is seeking a Specialized Assistant to support students, including those with disabilities, in assigned buildings in Lansing, MI. You will work closely with teachers, monitor safety, and build relationships with students and families to foster an engaging learning environment.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate's Degree, 60 college credits, and ETS Paraprofessional Exam; preferred experience with IEPs and RTI.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree is required.
• 60 completed college credits are required.
• Proof of passing the ETS Paraprofessional Exam is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate passion for working with students, especially one-on-one and in small groups, including students with special education needs.
• Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders.
• Ensure safety of students on caseload.
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions.
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
• Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission.
