Job summary

Washtenaw Intermediate School District seeks an Assistant Principal to lead the ASD program. You will design, implement, and evaluate services, set clear expectations, and support instructional quality across classrooms.

You will supervise ASD staff, coach teachers, and coordinate learning for families and districts. A master’s degree and 5+ years in related roles are required, with Michigan administrator certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in special education or related field is REQUIRED.
• At least five years of successful experience in special education or leadership is REQUIRED.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ASD instruction, behavior support, and transitions is REQUIRED.
• Consultation, coaching, training, and group facilitation skills are REQUIRED.
• Administrative or director experience in special education is PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

• Leads the ASD program design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement.
• Establishes program and instructional expectations and monitors implementation.
• Conducts classroom observations and provides coaching feedback to staff.
• Leads ASD professional learning and ensures instructional quality.
• Oversees communication with families and local districts on instructional matters.
