Description:

1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute (LTS) - Special Education ASD Center-Based Teacher for Sweeney Elementary School. Tentative assignment date is mid-October 2025 through January 2026.

Job Summary:

Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in the areas of academic, social, emotional, communication, and behavior skills in an ASD classroom setting. Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives, follow due process and IEP procedures, and manage paperwork. Communicate effectively with families and staff. Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans and direct the work of paraprofessional(s).

Provide instruction in content areas in accordance with each student's ability. Create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, and work collaboratively with other staff members.

Education/Training/Experience:
  • Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education; the District may consider Tier 1 or Tier 2 licensed candidates.
  • Experience working with a variety of disabilities and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Preference for experience supporting students with EBD, ASD, and/or OHD.
  • Training for specific needs of students in the program will be provided by the district.
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.

Salary ranges from $50,000 to $118,444 depending on education level and experience.
