Job summary

Progeny Human Resource Solutions in Florida is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) for a full-time, on-site role. You will perform standard lab procedures, interpret results, and maintain compliance with CAP guidelines while ensuring safe patient care.

A Florida technologist license is required, with active license processing delays noted; generalist or specialty licenses are acceptable. Night shift and on-call pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Florida Technologist license required; active application preferred.
• 1 year or less experience as Medical Technologist (MT) or entry-level acceptable.
• Specialty licenses accepted: Generalist, Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform approved laboratory procedures in assigned licensure areas with high theoretical knowledge and technical expertise.
• Exercise independent judgment under minimal to moderate supervision.
• Demonstrate skills in routine procedures, interpret results, and report them timely per patient needs.
• Determine acceptability of results per standards; seek assistance from experienced MTs when needed.
• Record and document corrective actions when quality control results are out of limits; follow CAP guidelines.
• Follow best practice methodologies and laboratory compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper operation for high-quality test performance via daily maintenance and inventory awareness.
• Practice infection control with proper hand washing and PPE to ensure patient and staff safety.

• You will be empowered to exercise independent judgment under minimum to moderate degree of supervision.

• You will exercise judgment to determine the acceptability or rejection of results according to standards set for tests, and request assistance when needed from more experienced medical technologists or technical manager.
• You will perform, record, and document corrective action when quality control results are not within defined limits and adhering to the established policies, procedures and CAP proficiency guidelines.
• You will follow best practice methodologies prescribed, demonstrating your skill and ability to following laboratory compliance policies and procedures.

• A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required
• A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred
• Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
• A State of Florida Technologist License is required (Notes from Recruiter: Due to the Florida Department of Health being behind on license processing, we are only able to consider candidates who have fully applied.
