Access Medical Labs in Florida is seeking a knowledgeable Medical Technologist specializing in Microbiology to join our high-volume clinical laboratory. You will perform culture, identification, and susceptibility testing on patient specimens, ensuring accuracy and timely results.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP MT certification, and at least three years in clinical microbiology, with strong LIS and automated instrument experience.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, CLS or related field.
• ASCP MT certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in clinical microbiology.
• Proficiency with Gram stains, culture workups, and susceptibility testing.
• Familiarity with LIS and automated instrumentation (MALDI-TOF, VITEK, BD BACTEC).
• Ability to work independently and in a high-volume lab.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.
• Commitment to lab safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Perform microbiological testing on clinical specimens including culture, identification, and susceptibility testing.
• Utilize manual and automated microbiology systems and instruments to support diagnostic testing.
• Interpret and validate microbiological results with precision and accuracy.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment per protocols and safety standards.
• Monitor quality control, calibration, and proficiency testing to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in development and implementation of new microbiology testing methods.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to support clinical decisions.
• Assist in training and mentoring new technologists or staff.
• Stay current on microbiology practices, pathogens, testing technologies, and infection control.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
