Qualifications

  • 2-5 years in ambulatory surgery center or ophthalmology setting.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ophthalmic procedures and ASC workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day ophthalmic surgery center operations.

  • Coach and develop staff through training and performance reviews.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Surgery Center Supervisor to provide leadership and operational oversight for our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This role is ideal for a healthcare professional who is passionate about patient care, team development, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement. The Surgery Center Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring efficient operations, regulatory compliance, exceptional patient experiences, and a positive team culture.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday

What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our ophthalmic surgery center.
  • Coordinate surgical schedules, physician availability, and patient flow to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support and develop staff through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to optimize workflows and patient care.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, and organizational standards.
  • Manage inventory, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships to support uninterrupted surgical services.
  • Monitor operational metrics including OR utilization, productivity, patient satisfaction, staff performance, and quality outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, board packets, and operational dashboards to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, patient safety, and exceptional service.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • RN, Bachelor's Degree, or Healthcare Management degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an ambulatory surgery center, ophthalmology practice, surgical setting, or related healthcare environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and ambulatory surgery workflows.
Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
  • BLS and/or ACLS Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement training
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership skills with a positive, growth-oriented mindset.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience with EMR systems, surgical scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Data-driven approach to operational performance and process improvement.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
