Asbury United Methodist Church is looking for someone to work with our growing Children's Ministry! The Asbury KiDS Assistant works alongside the Director of Children's Ministries and the Asbury KiDS team to create meaningful, welcoming, and faith-filled experiences for children from birth through 5th grade and their families. The role centers on building relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and staff while helping children grow as deeply committed followers of Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate is a person of growing Christian faith who genuinely enjoys children and brings energy, kindness, patience, creativity, and enthusiasm to ministry.
This role helps lead and implement Asbury KiDS programs, events, and outreach initiatives; communicates with and supports volunteers; assists with recruiting and training; and helps manage the details and logistics that make children's ministry run smoothly. The Assistant will also help create an environment where children feel a sense of belonging and where their spiritual and leadership gifts can grow. Collaboration is key, as the Assistant will work with children's ministry staff and other church teams on events, outreach, marketing, and creative ministry opportunities.
We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, teachable, self-motivated, and comfortable leading both large and small groups. Strong communication and relational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. A heart for children and a desire to serve as a positive role model are especially important. **Sunday mornings (7:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) and Wednesday evenings (4–7:45 p.m., August–May) are required**, along with an additional 10–15 hours of office time each week.
