Job summary

John Turner Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Asbestos Project Monitor/Asbestos Inspector certified in Massachusetts (or able to obtain certification) to join our Building Sciences Group.

The role supports project monitoring, inspections for asbestos, lead, and demolition, and can be based in any office in Massachusetts or New Hampshire. Responsibilities include coordinating hazardous material surveys, performing air monitoring, and conducting IAQ and moisture assessments while communicating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, science, or engineering-related field is required
• 2+ years of experience in the asbestos project monitoring field
• Ability to wear respirator and safety equipment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute hazardous building materials surveys for asbestos-, lead-, PCB-containing materials and other hazards
• Act as Project Monitor for materials abatement oversight and air monitoring
• Perform indoor air quality and industrial hygiene assessments, including LEED IAQ
• Conduct moisture and microbial assessments
• Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Job description

JTC is seeking a Asbestos Project Monitor/Asbestos Inspector that is certified in Massachusetts (or can become certified) with our Building Sciences Group to provide project monitoring and perform inspections for Asbestos, Lead and Demolition of Building Sciences projects. This position can be based out of any of our offices in Massachusetts or New Hampshire.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordination and execution of hazardous building materials surveys for asbestos-containing materials, lead-containing materials, indoor air quality, PCB’s, universal wastes etc.
• Project Monitor for materials abatement oversight and air monitoring
• Conduct indoor air quality and industrial hygiene assessments including LEED IAQ
• Perform moisture and microbial assessments
• Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives

REQUIRED LICENSES: One or more of the following certifications are required:

IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:

• Adaptive and flexible; Able to manage various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios.
• Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding their surroundings and the reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers/clients and offer solutions when needed.
• Able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other safety equipment as needed
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation
• 2+ years of experience in the asbestos Project Monitoring field
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Science, or Engineering related field
