Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP is seeking an experienced Asbestos Paralegal for our Midtown Manhattan office. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in asbestos litigation as a paralegal or substantial Personal Injury paralegal experience and will work full-time in the office.

You will assist with complaints, motions, discovery, client communications, and case management, using Smart Advocate and MS Office. Knowledge of asbestos regulations is a plus. This position is in-person, five days a week.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of experience as a Personal Injury paralegal.
• Nice to have 1+ year of asbestos litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience using Smart Advocate is a plus.
• Proficiency with Windows-based software and MS Office.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in preparing legal documents related to asbestos cases, including complaints, service lists, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
• Organize and maintain case files; ensure documents are indexed and accessible in Smart Advocate.
• Monitor docket and deadlines; ensure timely filings.
• Interact with clients to gather information and provide case progress updates.
• Conduct legal research on asbestos-related personal injury cases and relevant laws.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, calendars, and correspondence.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Asbestos Paralegal to join our Midtown Manhattan office. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of prior Asbestos Litigation experience though an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal will also be considered. This position is full-time and will be based in the office 5x per week.

You Will:

• Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as complaints, service lists, motions, and discovery requests/responses related to asbestos cases
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are properly indexed and accessible in Smart Advocate
• Monitor the docket and make sure all filing deadlines are met
• Interact with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and assist in answering their questions and concerns
• Conduct legal research to support attorneys in asbestos-related personal injury cases, including gathering information on asbestos-containing products, exposure sources, and relevant laws and regulations
• Perform some administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars and handling correspondence related to asbestos cases

You Have:

• 2+ year of experience as a Personal Injury paralegal
• Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to Have:

• 1+ year of experience as an Asbestos Litigation Paralegal
• 1+ year of experience using Smart Advocate

Salary Range: $24-34 per hour

The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
