Qualifications

Job description

Taylor Environmental Group, Inc. ("TEG") is one of the top Environmental Consulting firms providing services to public institutions within the five boroughs of New York City. We are a growing company with a professional team able to provide support and training to the right candidates. Our goal is to provide efficient professional services to our clients in an innovative manner.

We are looking to fill full-time and part-time positions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Asbestos Inspectors / Investigators will act as the firm’s representative to assess the status presence and condition of suspect asbestos containing materials within the five boroughs of New York City.
  2. Collection of bulk samples of suspect materials, interpretation of results from laboratory analyses, and active participation in the writing and review process of client reports prior to distribution.
  3. Responsible for maintaining proper documentation of asbestos inspection data that entails accurately identifying type, condition, and estimate of quantity for all suspect materials, as well as marking sample and ACM locations on provided drawings and generating chain of custody documentation.
  4. Punctual and professional demeanor as a representative of TEG.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma is required.
  2. Associated or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or related discipline is preferred.
  3. NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector License is required with at least 2 years relevant environmental experience.
  4. NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator License is a plus.
  5. Prior experience with construction or building materials is preferred.
  6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  7. The position entails frequent travel throughout New York City. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and good driving record preferred.
  8. Willingness to commit to varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
  9. Candidates should have initiative and take pride in their work.
  10. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
