TDSHS AMT/PM LICENSE IS REQUIRED

Terracon's DFW Metro Asbestos, Lead & IH Department is hiring dedicated, career-oriented individuals for the role of Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician in our expanding hazardous materials consulting practice.

Positions are available in Dallas and Fort Worth. Starting salary ranges from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

This role offers growth in a dynamic environment with the nation's top-ranked asbestos design firm. A current Texas Department of State Health Services Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician/Project Monitor license is mandatory.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a high level of personal accountability. Asbestos Technicians report to the Department Manager and are responsible for air monitoring and project oversight on asbestos abatement and sampling projects. Training as an asbestos inspector will be provided.

General Responsibilities:

• Conduct asbestos abatement air monitoring and manage projects.
• Perform environmental testing and sampling, including air, building materials, and noise.
• Operate monitoring equipment.
• Record and prepare data and logs for reports.
• Maintain field equipment.
• Follow QA/QC and safety standards.
• Assist with surveys and sampling for asbestos, lead paint, and mold, as qualified.
• Transport samples and documents for testing.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform field tests and inspections as directed.
• Calibrate monitoring equipment.
• Oversee and monitor air during asbestos abatement per regulations.
• Assist with surveys and sampling per guidelines.
• Support senior staff with project tasks.
• Follow safety protocols, participate in planning, and report issues.
• Maintain quality standards across projects.

Requirements:

• Valid TDSHS AMT or AMT/PM license is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: TDSHS Asbestos Inspector license.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexible hours, occasional weekends, and potential overnight travel up to 3 weeks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, team lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
• Frequent ladder use, including 24' extension ladders.
• Manual dexterity for operating equipment and microscopes.

TDSHS AMT/PM LICENSE IS REQUIRED
