Job summary

Watlow is seeking an experienced Staff Quality Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) in preparation for AS9100 certification. This role partners across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Leadership to establish robust quality processes and ensure regulatory and customer compliance.

The ideal candidate has led or significantly contributed to AS9100 certification and has strong expertise in quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quality or related engineering field.
• 8+ years in quality engineering or quality systems in regulated industries.
• Demonstrated AS9100 certification experience.
• Thorough knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015.
• Experience planning and conducting internal quality audits.
• Experience leading 8D or similar corrective methodologies.
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead readiness for AS9100 certification with planning and gap assessments.
• Develop and maintain AS9100-compliant QMS across functions.
• Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with standards and requirements.
• Integrate quality planning into product development and design reviews.
• Partner with supplier quality for qualifications, audits, and corrective actions.
• Develop risk management processes per AS9100.
• Lead investigations into quality issues and customer complaints.
• Train employees on quality systems and auditing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve process capability and efficiency.
• Represent quality in RFQ, contract reviews, and new product introductions.
