Job summary

A technology services company is seeking an AS400 Developer with Experience on the EDI platform, iSeries programming, and SQL skills. This role involves creating new programs using RPG, modifying SQL queries, and documentation of business rules, along with a keen understanding of various EDI transaction types. The position is contract-based for 3 months at a pay rate of $55 per hour, located in Issaquah, WA. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage project tasks effectively.

Skills

Excellent programming skills on the iSeries platform

Analyze and create new programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE)

Knowledge and hands-on experience working on the EDI platform on iSeries

Knowledge of various EDI transaction types like 810, 850, 820, 856

Very good knowledge of SQL concepts

Analyze and modify complex SQL queries

Embed SQL in SQLRPGLE and cursor programming

Database concepts including creating and analyzing physical files, logical files, SQL tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures

Good working knowledge of screen programming

Document business rules effectively

Create data-mapping documents after analyzing program flows and data flows

ILE programming to analyze and create program modules

Working knowledge of message queue (MQ) and embedding XML tags in RPG programs

Good communication skills

Own a project task completely based on communication with analysts at the client site
