Job summary

Cape Fear Community College seeks a Chair for Commercial, Fine and Performing Arts on the Wilmington campus. The role leads Art, Graphic Design, Music, Simulation and Game Development, and Theatre, coordinating scheduling, curriculum, recruitment, and accreditation-related activities.

The Chair will supervise faculty and staff, manage the program budget, and teach one course per semester in varied modalities. Regular campus presence and collaboration with the Dean are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in fine art (art, music or theatre), game design/development, graphic design, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of full-time teaching in a post-secondary setting; teaching in division subjects preferred.
• Administrative and managerial ability and experience in supervising faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Market and recruit for assigned programs; represent the program at professional organizations and conferences.
• Evaluate faculty performance using data and observations to ensure quality teaching.
• Schedule classes, coordinate teaching assignments, and ensure accurate documentation and records.
• Oversee accreditation-related processes and program outcomes assessment.
• Teach one course each fall, spring and summer in varied delivery modalities to model best practices.
