Job summary

Penn State University’s Center for the Performing Arts seeks an Education Program Specialist Supervisor to lead community engagement, arts education, and student workforce development. You will create learning pathways connecting arts experiences to learning, collaborate with schools and community partners, and expand access to CPA programming.

Responsibilities include designing experiential learning, aligning programs with curricula, and supervising staff while managing budgets and assessments.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, reliability, adaptability, and success in completing projects on time.
  • Experience working with educators or higher education faculty.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and assess programs connecting arts experiences to learning, civic life, wellbeing, or career development.
  • Experience creating experiential learning, internship, workforce development, or credential-aligned pathways for students.
  • Experience with program assessment, participation tracking, and reporting on educational or community impact.
  • Demonstrated commitment to relationship-centered community engagement; inclusive and respectful collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships with schools, libraries, and community partners to expand access to arts learning and engagement.
  • Design and lead experiential learning and student workforce development programs with clear pathways from participation to internships and leadership.
  • Develop academic integration strategies linking CPA programming with curricula, faculty engagement, and educational outcomes.
  • Lead PreK–12 education strategy, including student matinee programs and arts integration initiatives.
  • Direct the Arts Engagement Coordinator and manage budgets, assessments, and reporting on participation and outcomes.
