Job summary

UCLA Extension seeks an Arts Education Instructor to lead Foundations of Teaching Artistry & CTE, the first course in a six-course post-baccalaureate credential program. This is a limited appointment contract for one 10-week hybrid course, beginning September 23, 2026.

Qualifications

• Substantial professional experience as a teaching artist and/or arts educator.
• Fluency in social justice pedagogy, social-emotional learning, culturally relevant pedagogy, and Universal Design for Learning as applied to arts education contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly seminar sessions (in-person and via Zoom) delivering arts education content grounded in social justice pedagogy and UDL.
• Guide candidates through lesson design and facilitation of original arts-based K–12 learning experiences.
• Coordinate with guest instructors to integrate credential content with arts-education content.
• Facilitate weekly creative-reflection practice connecting course content to field placements.
• Grade and provide feedback on weekly assignments and capstone projects.
• Maintain the course Canvas site and manage attendance and grading records.
