Job summary

UCLA Extension in Los Angeles seeks an Arts Education Instructor to lead Foundations of Teaching Artistry & CTE, the first course in a six-course credential sequence. The position is a limited 10-week contract, requiring in-person and live online instruction starting September 23, 2026.

Expertise in arts education, social justice pedagogy, and Universal Design for Learning is essential, with familiarity with the CTE credential process highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Substantial professional experience as a teaching artist and/or arts educator.
• Fluency in social justice pedagogy and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly seminar sessions in-person and via Zoom.
• Guide candidates through lesson design and facilitation of K-12 arts-based experiences.
• Coordinate with guest CTE Coordinator/Specialist to integrate credential content.
• Facilitate weekly reflective practice connecting course content to field placements.
• Grade and provide feedback on weekly assignments and projects.
• Support capstone statements and learning plans with mentor input.
• Maintain the course Canvas site and manage attendance and grading.
