Pouring With Heart is seeking a Security Host in the Los Angeles area to create a safe, welcoming environment while representing the first and last impression of the venue. You will balance hospitality with vigilant safety and work closely with staff to maintain order.

The role requires 3+ years in security or hospitality, 21+ years old with any state-required certifications, and a professional, calm demeanor during peak hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years prior security, guest services, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and confidence under pressure.
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts with patience and clear communication.
• Must be 21+ and have valid security guard certifications if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and set a safe, welcoming tone.
• Verify IDs and manage guest entry per venue policies.
• Monitor floor and bar areas for safety; escalate as needed.
• Support staff and guests through conflict resolution and clear communication.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and respectfully.
• Assist with crowd flow, line management, and capacity control during peak hours.
• Report incidents, hazards, or policy violations to leadership.
• Follow health, safety, and compliance standards, including responsible alcohol service.

The role…

As a Security Host, you are responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. You represent the first and last impression of the bar, balancing professionalism and hospitality with the awareness and confidence needed to maintain order.

About the Bar…

Arts District Brewing Company is an award-winning brewery in the heart of Downtown L.A.’s historic Arts District. Since opening in 2015, Arts has become a neighborhood gathering place built around craft beer, cocktails, food, games, and community. With 30 rotating craft beers, a full bar, expansive outdoor spaces, and multiple bars offering their own distinct experience, there’s something for everyone.

The Pay

$27 to $30 an hour ($20 to $25 an hour base pay + tips)

Duties include, but are not limited to…

Greet guests warmly and set the tone for a safe, welcoming environment

Verify IDs accurately and manage guest entry in line with venue policies

Monitor the floor and bar areas for safety concerns, escalating issues when necessary

Support staff and guests through conflict resolution and clear communication

Use de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and respectfully

Assist with crowd flow, line management, and capacity control during peak hours

Report incidents, hazards, or policy violations to leadership promptly

Follow all health, safety, and compliance standards, including responsible alcohol service and emergency procedures

Required Skills/Qualifications

3+ years prior security, guest services, or hospitality experience preferred

Strong situational awareness, confidence, and professionalism under pressure

Ability to de-escalate conflicts with patience, respect, and clear communication

Must be 21+ and have valid security guard certifications if required (varies by state)

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

Ability to lift and move 100+ pounds

Fast-paced movements and mobility required to cover bar and floor space efficiently

Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as part of daily bar operations
