Job summary

YMCA Camp Ocoee seeks an Arts & Crafts Coordinator for the 2027 summer season. The role is full-time/seasonal and involves teaching creative crafts, leading activities, and maintaining a safe, organized space for campers.

You will work with Cabin Life Directors to plan crafts across age groups, supervise participants, and contribute to a positive camp experience. Training in First Aid/CPR is provided upon hire.

Qualifications

  • Must be 19+ years old and a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license required and experience with campers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic first aid or care for injuries when needed.

Job description

Are you passionate about working with children and helping them create memorable camp experiences? Do you thrive in an outdoor environment and have experience in a camp environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Join our team as an Arts & Crafts Coordinator for summer 2027 (full time/seasonal)!

Camp Dates: May 24, 2027 - July 31, 2027 (first two weeks are mandatory training).

As an Arts & Crafts Coordinator you will be responsible for teaching and leading arts and crafts projects for campers while maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Focus on safety and fun for all campers
  • Work with Cabin Life Directors to plan, organize and execute arts and crafts for campers of all ages
  • Maintain a clean and organized space for campers to get creative
  • Help solve camper issues
  • Demonstrate leadership with your involvement and assistance with other camp activities
  • Perform first aid or provide care for injuries as needed
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 19 years of age or older
  • High school graduate or equivalent;
  • Valid driver's license required
  • One year of experience in resident camp required
  • Must be well organized
  • Proven experience working with children
  • Familiarity with camping and various outdoor activities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • A good understanding of safety at camp
  • Positive, creative, energetic, reliable, self-motivated, flexible and patient attitude
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including hiking, running, crouching, and carrying children
  • Walking up to 5 miles per day, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings and varying weather conditions and temperatures
Training:
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and O2 (provided by Y upon hire)
  • Y Camp training required before camp sessions, including online safety courses (campers arrive June 1)
  • New Employee Orientation required within one week of hire
