Job summary

Regent University in Virginia Beach invites applications for a full-time Artist in Residence in Technical Theatre. The role focuses on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, leading scenic design for the season, and coordinating with programs across the School of Communication and the Arts.

The successful candidate will have a terminal degree, a strong professional portfolio, proven teaching ability, and a Christian commitment. Start date July 1, 2027, with ongoing screening until filled.

Qualifications

  • Must have significant professional portfolio and evidence of successful teaching.
  • Demonstrated curriculum development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in technical theatre.
  • Participate in administration and coordination with programs across the School and in the community.
  • Lead scenic design for the Regent University Center for Performing Arts theatrical season.
  • Lead academic and co-curricular initiatives including development of new curriculum.
  • Support growth of the program into a next generation incubator for real-world training.
