Job summary

Commonplace Coffee in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking bakers to produce delicious, hearty and creative bakery items for our retail shop guests and wholesale clients, using high-quality, regionally sourced ingredients. As a production kitchen and bakery, bakers will review orders and bake to meet requested volumes.

This position can be full-time or part-time with potential to expand to full-time. Personal transportation is required to get to the work location.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Experience in commercial kitchens and bakeries highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality and consistent product standards.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Prep ingredients needed for bakery items.
• Follow recipes to prepare baked goods and ingredients needed for orders. This involves adjusting ingredient amounts to meet order volumes.
• Monitor oven temperatures to ensure consistent product.
• Organize and label items to prepare for assembly and delivery shifts.
• Test and taste products regularly to maintain familiarity with products and quality standards.
• Communicate with team members and management to solve problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen manager and supervisors.
