Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Artillery Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on self-propelled field artillery cannon weapon systems, including automotive, turret, fire control, and subsystems.

You will learn to troubleshoot, repair, test, and adjust equipment, with 10 weeks of Basic Training and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Paid training, tuition assistance, and retirement benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ages 17–35.
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain diesel power plants/packs and related systems on self-propelled artillery.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform unit maintenance on artillery systems.
