Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Artillery Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on all self-propelled field artillery cannon weapon systems, including automotive, turret, fire control, and chemical protection subsystems.

You will learn to diagnose malfunctions, repair, test, and adjust damaged equipment, while receiving paid training and benefits through the Guard. Training includes 10 weeks Basic Training and 15 weeks Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Must be enlistee in Army National Guard.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal/moral standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain diesel power plants/packs, engines, fuel systems, air induction, exhaust, cooling, starting/charging, and track hull electrical systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform unit maintenance on carriage-mounted armament and related systems and components on self-propelled field artillery weapon systems.
