Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Cannon Crewmembers to join a mission-focused team ensuring battlefield readiness. You will operate howitzers, learn artillery tactics, and advance from entry-level duties to supervising crewmembers over time.

Initial training includes Basic Training (10 weeks) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT, seven weeks), with opportunities to gain leadership skills and pursue higher responsibility while earning a regular paycheck and access to tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.
• Ability to make quick decisions.
• Capable of working as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Conducting wire and radio communications
• Identifying target locations
• Setting, loading, and firing artillery
• Using computers to generate fire direction data
• Operating heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
• Participate in reconnaissance operations
