SYNLawn of Ohio Valley in Columbus, OH seeks dependable individuals to join our Artificial Turf Installation Crew. You will help install turf for residential and commercial landscapes, putting greens, and more across Ohio, as part of a committed installation team.

Experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The role is physical, outdoor, and fast-paced, with opportunities for growth into lead roles as you demonstrate reliability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing job sites for artificial turf installation, including removal of existing grass, soil, landscaping materials and other surfaces.
  • Excavating and grading installation areas to required specifications.
  • Installing, spreading, grading and compacting aggregate base materials.
  • Assisting with drainage preparation and installation when required.
  • Measuring installation areas and assisting with job-site layout.
  • Moving, positioning and rolling out artificial turf.
  • Accurately cutting and fitting turf around landscaping, buildings, walkways, curbing, drains and other site features.
  • Assisting with turf seams, fastening and securing turf according to company installation standards.
  • Installing infill materials and power brooming finished turf.
  • Assisting with the construction and installation of synthetic putting greens, including cups, contours and specialty features.
  • Using hand tools, power tools and installation equipment safely and properly.
  • Operating equipment when trained and authorized, which may include skid steers, mini skid steers, compactors, sod cutters and other construction equipment.
  • Loading and unloading turf, aggregate, tools and other materials.
  • Maintaining an organized and safe job site throughout the project.
  • Cleaning the work area and removing installation debris upon project completion.
  • Protecting customers' homes, landscaping and property while work is being performed.
  • Following company installation procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Maintaining company tools, vehicles and equipment in good working condition.
  • Communicating professionally and respectfully with crew members, supervisors, customers and other contractors on the job site.
  • Assisting other crew members as needed to complete projects safely, efficiently and on schedule.

ARTIFICIAL TURF INSTALLATION CREW MEMBER

POSITION SUMMARY

SYNLawn of Ohio Valley is seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our installation team as Artificial Turf Installation Crew Members.

Our Installation Crew Members work as part of a team to professionally install artificial turf for residential and commercial landscapes, putting greens, pet areas, playgrounds, courtyards, rooftop applications and other specialty projects throughout Ohio.

This is a hands-on, physically active position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to be part of a team that creates high-quality finished projects.

Previous artificial turf experience is preferred but is not required. Experience in landscaping, hardscaping, construction, concrete, pavers, irrigation or other skilled trades is beneficial. Training will be provided to individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation Crew Members may be responsible for:

  • Preparing job sites for artificial turf installation, including removal of existing grass, soil, landscaping materials and other surfaces.

A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required for employees who operate company vehicles.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This position involves physical outdoor construction work.

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, which may include:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching and lifting.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling tools, turf and construction materials.
  • Performing repetitive physical tasks associated with artificial turf installation.
  • Working on uneven surfaces and active construction sites.
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold and direct sunlight.
  • Working around dust, dirt, aggregate, landscaping materials, construction equipment and normal job-site noise.
  • Safely performing physical work throughout the scheduled workday.
WORK SCHEDULE

Work schedules are based on project needs and may vary due to weather, project location and installation requirements.

Crew Members should be prepared for:

  • Primarily weekday work.
  • Early morning start times when required.
  • Occasional extended workdays to complete a project or meet scheduling requirements.
  • Travel to job sites throughout SYNLawn of Ohio Valley's service area.
  • Occasional overnight or out-of-town travel when required by a project.
EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in any of the following is beneficial but not required:

  • Artificial turf installation
  • Landscaping
  • Hardscaping
  • Paver installation
  • Construction
  • Concrete work
  • Irrigation
  • Excavation or grading
  • Operating compact construction equipment
  • Other skilled trades or outdoor labor

Candidates without previous artificial turf experience may be considered based on work ethic, dependability, mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
