Job summary

Lumicity in the Bay Area is hiring AI Researchers for an early-stage humanoid robotics company. We are building multimodal foundation models to help physical robots reason, learn and act in the real world.

Ideal candidates have PhD-level research ability and senior profiles are preferred. Direct robotics experience is ideal, but exceptional researchers from adjacent fields who understand the frontier of robotics will also be considered. Apply to discuss exciting opportunities.

Qualifications

• PhD-level research ability required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in robot learning, imitation learning or VLAs.
• Strong publication record at top conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
• Direct robotics experience is ideal but not required for transitioning researchers from adjacent fields.

Responsibilities

• Advance multimodal foundation models for physical robots.
• Translate research ideas into deployed systems in real-world settings.
• Collaborate across robotics, ML, and hardware teams to integrate models into robots.

The team is building multimodal foundation models for physical robots - focused on how robots reason, learn and act in the real world.

Looking for researchers with experience across:

• Robot learning, imitation learning or VLAs
• Deep learning and generative models
• Taking research from new ideas through to real-world deployment
• Strong research record at top conferences

Direct robotics experience is ideal, but not essential for exceptional researchers from adjacent fields who understand the frontier of robotics.
