Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Level 1 Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Engineer in Maryland to design, develop, test, and deploy AI/ML algorithms addressing complex mission requirements and customer objectives. You will build scalable models and integrate data pipelines to improve performance.

Qualifications include a BS in Advanced mathematics, Computer Science, or related STEM field (or 6 years ML experience in lieu); TS/SCI with Poly is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Advanced mathematics, Computer Science, or related STEM field from an accredited college. In lieu of BS, 6 years of ML experience on similar projects may be substituted.
• TS/SCI with Poly is required to start.

Job description

The Level 1 Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/MI) Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

• Select appropriate data sets.


• Perform statistical analysis.


• Run machine learning algorithms.


• Use results to improve models.


• Train and retrain systems when needed.


• Experience in working with various ML libraries and packages.


• Run standard test and evaluation protocols. Provide system integration oversight


• Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced mathematics (e.g., calculus, linear algebra, Bayesian statistics), Computer Science or related STEM discipline from an accredited college or university. (In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 4 (6 years total) additional years of machine learning experience on similar projects may be substituted). 0 years of experience with a MS/MA.


• Minimum TS/SCI required. Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI with Poly is required to start.


• Experience training, retraining, deploying, scheduling, monitoring, and improving models based on iterative user and system feedback is required to support designing and creating scalable solutions for optimal performance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages, e.g. Python, Java, C, R, is desired.
