AI Software Engineer – Radar & AI Systems

About the Role
Laser Photonics Corporation is seeking an AI Software Engineer to develop and deploy AI/ML software for advanced defense, laser, robotics, computer vision, and autonomous systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on taking AI models from data and development through optimization, integration, testing, and deployment. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine learning, software development, computer vision, and radar-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy AI/ML software applications using Python and/or C++.
- Develop machine learning and deep learning solutions for radar, computer vision, sensor processing, autonomous systems, and defense applications.
- Build AI/ML pipelines from data preparation and preprocessing through model development, evaluation, optimization, and deployment.
- Work with radar data, including signal/data preprocessing, feature extraction, model development, evaluation, and deployment.
- Develop AI solutions for counter-UAS / anti-drone applications.
- Develop and optimize models for real-time and edge AI applications.
- Integrate AI models with sensors, embedded hardware, software, robotics, and other engineering systems.
- Deploy AI models to edge and embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson and Raspberry Pi.
- Optimize models for performance using techniques such as quantization and hardware acceleration.
- Develop software, APIs, and services that integrate AI/ML capabilities into larger systems.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, validation, and performance optimization of AI software.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Software, and Systems Engineers.
- Maintain technical documentation and support the complete software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Professional experience developing software, AI, machine learning, or related systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Hands‑on experience with machine learning and deep learning.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or similar ML frameworks.
- Experience developing and deploying AI/ML models.
- Understanding of data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and optimization.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Experience with Git or similar version-control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with radar systems, radar data, micro-Doppler, signal processing, or radar-based machine learning.
- Experience with counter-UAS / C-UAS, defense, aerospace, or government applications.
- Experience with computer vision and image-processing systems.
- Experience with Edge AI and embedded inference.
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, GPU/NPU acceleration, or similar platforms.
- Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, or sensor-based systems.
- Experience with C++, OpenCV, CUDA, or embedded software.
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with MLOps, CI/CD, MLflow, or model deployment infrastructure.
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, RAG, or Hugging Face is a plus.
