Job summary

Salt is seeking a hands-on engineer to be the architect, engineer, and product owner for AI initiatives across the business. You will work directly with operational leaders to identify inefficiencies, design scalable AI-powered solutions, build them, and continuously improve them after deployment.

This role is not a traditional software engineering position; you’ll own projects from idea through production, collaborating with stakeholders to drive AI transformation across multiple teams.

Qualifications

They're looking for a hands-on engineer who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving business problems through technology.

About the Role

This is not a traditional software engineering position.

There are no product managers writing specifications. You'll own projects from idea through production.

Requirements:

• Strong Node.js and React (or similar).
• Experience building production AI applications.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, AI agents, orchestration, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with workflow automation platforms (n8n or similar).
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Strong API design and systems architecture experience.
• Excellent business acumen and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal direction.
