Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking an Art Therapist to develop and deliver creative art therapy to patients. You will be responsible for comprehensive assessments and provide treatment through active art making and creative processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Art Therapy and at least 2 years of experience in pediatric healthcare or behavioral health. An ATR-Provisional licensure is required.

This is a day shift position offering a supportive work environment and equal opportunity in employment.

Qualifications

• Preferred: ATR certification.
• Preferred: Non-Violent Crisis Prevention certification.

Job description

Responsibilities

The Art Therapist develops and delivers creative art therapy to assigned individuals, groups or families. Provides comprehensive art therapy assessment and treatment through active art making, creative processes, applied psychological theory, etc., to assist admitted patients in meeting treatment goals. Responsible for assessing the patient to determine psychosocial, developmental needs, facilitating expressive therapy-based education and adaptive coping strategies for patients.

Experience Qualifications

• 2 years of experience Clinical- pediatric healthcare/ behavioral health

Education Qualifications

• Master\'s Degree Art Therapy

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support HeartSaver & First Aid American Heart Association
• Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-Provisional) licensure
• Preferred: ATR certification
• Preferred: Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Crisis Prevention Institute
